The Purchasing Department of Syracuse University is a member of the University Sustainability Action Coalition. Syracuse University is committed to the development, purchase and use of environmentally and socially responsible materials and products. It is our goal that all University departments will support this initiative. 

Syracuse University supports the 3 R’s of waste management: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, and conserving energy and water when purchasing supplies, equipment and services.  In doing so, Syracuse University intends to minimize the harmful effects of their use and final disposition upon the environment.  

The University is committed to actions designed to conserve and protect the environment, and will continue to implement those actions whenever possible and economically feasible.  The Purchasing Department supports this initiative by seeking and recommending appropriate goods and services to University departments.  For information on recycling, go to the OCRRA website at:  www.ocrra.org.
